Planning Commission

The Town of Richford Planning Commission was created as a result of Chapter 66.1001 of the Wisconsin Statutes.  This law requires that all Town land use decisions be consistent with a comprehensive land use plan.  The major responsibilities of the Commission is to annually review the plan, and make recommendations to the Town Board about changes to the plan and to make sure any land use decisions are consistent with the plan.

Meetings are held annually the first Monday of April
The next meeting is Monday, April 8, 2024 @ 5PM

Additional meetings may be scheduled as needed

The current plan, available online at https://waushara.extension.wisc.edu/planning/, was adopted October 12, 2009 and reviewed October 4, 2021.

It should be noted the Comprehensive Plan replaced the Richford Land Use Development Plan of 2002. The 2002 plan was the result of steadfast resident volunteers coming together to review the town's current land use and, with input from a resident survey, create an appropriate document to guide the Town Board when approached with zoning and conditional use requests. The current plan carries forward the wish for residents to keep the town's rural atmosphere while supporting cottage businesses.
