Important Property Tax Notifications

Property Tax bills have been mailed!

Payment Postmarks: Pursuant to a new rule implemented by the USPS in August, 2025, the date that you personally mail your tax payment may not be the same date that it is postmarked. In order to ensure that your payment is timely, you should mail your payment by 12/29/25 for a December 2025 payment or by 1/28/26 for a January 2026 payment.  You can also go to the post office & have your envelope hand stamped with the mail date if needed.

New County Payment System ASCENT: With the County switch over to a new property tax collecting software you will be able to see your payment as soon as it is entered! You do not have to login. The link is listed below. Once you find yourself by adding ‘Town of Richford to the Muncipality Dropdown’ and typing in your name (less is more so perhaps just your last name, first name) your parcel(s) will appear. Select the parcel number. Tax History will show if payment has been entered. Clicking on the year ‘2025’ will show the ‘date’ the treasurer has received as shown in the picture below. Please allow a couple of days for the information to be entered once received due to the volume of bills for our town. As for the postal timeline from you to Kristen, we have noticed up to 5 days for mail to get to its destination depending on where is it mailed from despite the postmark date.

Please also take note of ‘Received Of’. This may be an escrow agent.

Address Changes: You can change your mailing address using the ASCENT System as well. Once you find your parcel number(s) click on it and in the Mailing Address window you will see a link “Request Mailing Address Change”.

Dog License Collection/Tags: Waushara County Clerk’s office will now collect the fee and issue all dog license tags. Therefore, please DO NOT send payment for the license to the town treasurer along with your property tax payment. New county software costs passed onto the town was three times the collections taken in.  Please see the notice from the county. This notice is also included in the property tax bill mailing.
