11th Drive Washout – Due to a cross culvert fail there are two side by side washouts, one being 5′ deep. The date for repair of the cross culvert and shoulder is yet to be determined. Once that date is set we will let you know as the road will be 100% closed. Currently there is one lane open, but trucks and farm equipment should not be using 11th Drive until the repair is complete. Please don’t use the residential driveways to get from one end of the closure to the other. Emergency funds from the state have been applied for which should cover 70% of the cost.
11th Road Mecan River Guardrail – Work will start Monday, July 28. 11th Road will be closed from County Road JJ north to the DNR parking lot. We will be keeping the salvaged rail in hopes of using it as a guardrail for the Community Center/Town Hall parking lot.
Volunteer Clean-up Day – This will be scheduled on a weekend in September. The Board is working to get a detailed list of items to be completed to make the best use of everyone’s time.
Electronic Recycling Event – The event was a success. The company filled one truck and had to send another for the remaining pallets. The Board plans to make this an annual event. Reminder this is open to all of Waushara County including businesses.
Cemetery Well – The non-functioning well has been removed for safety purposes. Thanks to Vern Wagner for taking care of this.
Dakota Ave Town of Newton Side – Appears that the Town of Newton is working on Dakota Ave. Thanks to Dave Paulus for his persistence on obtaining information. YAY!
