With the recent election the Town Board is short one member. State Statutes dictate that remaining members appoint a person to fulfill the vacant 2-year term ending April 19, 2027.
If you are interested in public service please contact Ryan Heil or David Paulus Jr. A short letter of interest explaining why you are interested in public service and what you feel you have to offer is appreciated. Town contact information can be found here: https://townofrichfordwi.gov/town-staff/
The Town Board’s largest responsibility is maintenance of the Town Roads. The Board also oversees local Elections, the Town Cemetery, Town Buildings, Financial Administration, Alcohol/Tobacco Licensing, and required/optional Ordinances and Resolutions. Members are expected to stay apprised of Zoning and Land Use requirements and State Statutes relative to towns. Members should attend Wisconsin Town Association Workshops to update and broaden their knowledge. Members may be called upon to assist with emergency tree/brush removal, drive roads to determine safety, and set road and address signage.
As a Town Board member and member of the community you will be contacted with questions and complaints. You are expected to handle each in a professional and timely manner.
The appointment will take place at the May 5 monthly meeting. The appointee would need to attend the May 6 Board of Review from 6-8PM. If possible we would like the appointee to ride along on Saturday, May 3 for the Annual Road Review beginning at 9AM.
Regular Monthly Meetings are the first Monday of month @6PM, unless otherwise noticed.
Please be sure to contact Ryan or Dave by Friday April, 25 for consideration. Thank you!
