Thank you to everyone who came out to vote and who voted early. We processed 279 ballots, 59 of those ballots were absentees (early voters, confined status voters, military). With 20 new registrations on November 5, we now have 305 registered voters. To those who registered, thank you for your patience! We work to ensure the correct information is entered and that your name does get entered on the list of active voters.
Census data tells us we have 560 residents of voting age. If you know someone eligible, but not registered, let them know how important it is to participate in our election process!
Anyone who receives a 4-year voter maintenance postcard, please be sure to sign and return that card. Doing so will keep you as an active voter. These cards are one of the methods Wisconsin uses to keep the voter rolls clean. Below is the statement from the Wisconsin Elections Commission concerning these postcards:
Voter List Maintenance, commonly referred to as four year maintenance is outlined in Wisconsin Statutes §§6.50 (1) and (2) requires the Commission, in June following a general election, to mail notices to all voters who have been registered to vote for the past four years but have not voted. The notice indicates that voters’ registrations will be deactivated unless they request continuation of their registration within 30 days.
If the notice is returned as undeliverable or if the voter does not respond within 30 days, the Commission deactivates the voter’s registration in the statewide voter registration system. Voters who are deactivated do not appear on the poll list on Election Day and must reregister to vote. Pursuant to Wis. Stats. §6.50 (2r), the Commission must post voter record maintenance statistics on the agency website.
